  37. I have used the paperback book "PC-DSP" by Oktay Alkin (Prentice-HAll
  38. ISBN 0-13-654450) which has PC software for self-teaching for hams in the
  39. EPA Section of the ARRL (I'm the TC for EPA).  We've also had two all-day

  56. I second the comments on PC-DSP, about 30 bucks.  There's a new book
  57. by the same author, probably superceding it.  OP-AMP books in LA gave
  58. me great service on my copy.

  60. I also recommend the TI 'c26 DSK module - a TMS320C26, their analog 
  61. interface chip, with a spot for an input phono plug and output of same,
  62. for audio; an rs232 port to talk to your pc, and a 9vac connector for power.
  63. Great utilities with it.  Loook also for W9GR's code and otehr
  64. programs which have been p;orted by Johan Ferrer to teh DSK.  Great
  65. learning tools

  90. P.S. The *nicest* feature is the scrollback capability -- given 1200bps
  91. data speed, and slow half duplex switchover. Saves *a lot* of message
  92. re-reading. Given a large received data buffer, you can turn off paging on
  93. the BBS, and scan the entire message list as fast as the modem will go, then
  94. scroll back to read what you couldn't follow as it came in. *NICE*
